In the Summer of 2020, when nobody was looking at each other, I lived alone in a studio apartment in Binghamton, NY in a building called "The Windermere" that used to be a hotel and has since become a frat house. Earlier that year while living with my parents I drew a big vending machine (just a way to pass the time), but I brought it with me to Binghamton and decided I had to do something with it, so I wrote, shot, and edited a 5-episode web series so that the vending machine could be a featured set piece. It's called "Home Work" and it's a workplace comedy.
Check out some pics from that summer, and my full web series, below!
First Here's The Pics
Binghamton always had really cool sunsets.
I wrote this at some point that summer because it was in my camera roll with all of these.
I bought a bike, rode it 5 times, and 3 months later it was stolen. C'est la vie. Also this is a good photo to see that this was basically all there was to my room. The only thing you don't see is the exposed brick.
Cute wall.
My aunt died that summer, and she always loved florals and wildflowers, so I picked a few.
The Windermere aka "The Windie". This was I guess the fire escape? This deck went all the way up the back of the building, and I would lock my bike to it. I went all the way up the stairs of this once and it didn't feel great.
More Southern Tier stuff.
Good to know about the KFC delivery. The deep red on this blue sky... come on!
This was just on a wall near a U-Haul store, I wonder if it was somehow related to them, like an ad showing how relaxed you can be if you hire movers? That's just my best guess. This is still my friend Maddy's contact photo in my phone. Hi Maddy!
The aforementioned U-Haul store, and another big ups to the sky!
Charlie still has this disco ball, and I'm still jealous as fuck. Hi Charlie!
Marguerite drove down one day to have Monte Carlo Viewing Party / Frozen Pizza night! And she surprised me by making our own Monte Carlo board game to play! I think some of the pieces took on water damage maybe.
Staged my stuffed animals figurines for a photo so I could do one of those tweets like "The photo/the photographer". This was the photo...
...and this was the photographer. I really do love how weird my stomach looks here.
This was a math problem that I'm too stupid to solve now but solved correctly on whatever homework or test this was. That fall I finished college in this tiny studio apartment. All 4 of my classes were virtual so I spent a lot of time alone in that room, and I think I enjoyed it a lot, and learned to love working and living and spending time alone. I have roommates now that I love, but once in a while, I miss that tiny blue room.
Okay, Now Here's The Web Series
I worked really hard on it, and want to thank my friends Izzi, Lucy, Noah, Julia, and Nora for lending their voices and time to it. I learned so much along the way and filmed the episodes in order, so you can kinda see the lighting (or at least the glare on my glasses) and camera angles get better throughout.
